Join us on an unforgettable journey to Sur, a coastal haven soaked in history. Our journey starts with breakfast at the scenic Finns Beach, before we proceed to explore the town of Sur. Visiting the museum and shipbuilding factory, we’ll embark on a boat ride and then enjoy delicious local cuisine. The following morning we will head to Ras al Jins, where we will witness the magic of Turtle Beach, where pristine shores welcome nesting turtles. Along the route to surreal pink lakes, we will stop for a breathtaking viewpoint, offering panoramic vistas across the sea. We will conclude our journey with a splash at Wadi Tiwi, hidden paradise perfect for a nice swim after a long day.
DAY 01 – Along the Coastal Route
08:00 AM Breakfast at Fins Beach (1 hr)
About an hour drive from Muscat, we will make our first stop at Fins, one of the most beautiful beaches of Oman and popular camping destination. The beach is known for its scenic coastline, clear waters, and opportunities for camping and water activities. We will enjoy our breakfast in a beautiful scenery.
11:30 AM City of Sur
Sur, located in eastern Oman along the Arabian Sea, is a historic coastal city known for its traditional dhow shipbuilding, showcasing the craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations. Highlights of Sur include the picturesque Old Town with its distinctive architecture and the Sur Maritime Museum. Places we will visit include:

DAY 02 – Turtle Beach and Coastal Secrets
04:45 AM Turtle Beach at Ras Al Jinz National Reserve (1 hr)
Ras Al Jinz is located on the easternmost tip of the Arabian Peninsula in Oman, specifically in the Sharqiyah region. It is famous for being a significant nesting site for green turtles. The beach at Ras Al Jinz is one of the largest turtle nesting areas in the Indian Ocean. Our guided tour, organized by marine national reserve, starts before the sunrise in order to minimize disturbance for the turtles. We will have unique opportunity to see the turtles and their nesting sites and learn about the importance of preserving these endangered species.
06:00 AM Breakfast at Ras Al Jinz Resort
After the turtle activity, we will have coffee and breakfast at the cafe / restaurant at the ground floor of the visitor center.
06:50 AM Turtle Museum
The “Turtle Visitor Centre” at Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve is uniquely dedicated to showcasing the sea turtle’s lifecycle and archaeological discoveries, featuring innovative museographical displays and technologies, a one-of-a-kind experience in Oman.
08:00 AM Pink Lakes
Short drive away from the turtle nesting sites, there are a couple of lakes known for their pink coloration. The lake’s distinctive pink color is a result of the presence of certain types of algae and bacteria that produce pigments. The concentration of these microorganisms can change with environmental conditions. We will stop for a visit in one of the lakes.
10:30 AM Wadi Tiwi
Wadi Tiwi is a picturesque wadi (valley) , near the town of Sur. Known for its lush greenery, clear pools, and dramatic cliffs, Wadi Tiwi offers a stunning natural setting for visitors to explore. The wadi is adorned with date plantations, small villages, and is known for its emerald-green pools, making it a popular destination for hiking, swimming, and enjoying the serene beauty of Oman’s landscape.
