Jebel Akhdar

At nearly 3,000 meters above sea level, Jebel Akhdar – “The Green Mountain” – is a hidden world of rugged beauty. Just two hours from Muscat (accessible only by 4WD), the journey takes you through deep canyons and dramatic cliffside roads before arriving at a surprisingly lush plateau.

Thanks to its cooler Mediterranean-like climate, the area is rich in agriculture, known for its pomegranates, apricots, plums, figs, grapes, apples, pears, almonds, walnuts – and of course, roses. Spring is the most enchanting season here, as the rose gardens come to life.
